Bhilwara, June 29 (). In Sawaipur town of Bhilwara district, District Special Team (DST) and police of Badliyas police station took a major action against a gambling den and arrested 9 people. Police have recovered gambling money of Rs 1 lakh 31 thousand 590, two cars and materials used in gambling from the spot.
According to the police, this action was taken late on Sunday night at a farm house in Sawaipur area. Badlias police station in-charge Jaswant Singh said that the District Special Team had received information that some people were gambling in a group in a farm house located about 150 meters inside the highway road. It was also told in the information that some people were staying outside and keeping an eye on the activities of the police and passing on information to the people gambling inside.
After confirming the information, the police planned immediate action. Police station in-charge said that constables Sandeep Kumar and Shravan Kumar from Sawaipur post were sent to the spot. According to the police, it could take time to get a search warrant and there was a possibility of people gambling during this time absconding, so it was decided to raid immediately.
The police team surrounded the farm house from all sides and entered inside. During this time, some people managed to escape by jumping over the wall, while the police caught 9 people from the spot. During the search, the accused were found gambling with cards.
Police recovered gambling amount of Rs 1 lakh 31 thousand 590 and other items from the spot. Apart from this, two cars parked in the farm house were also confiscated.
In this matter, a case has been registered in Badliyas police station and investigation has been started. Police said that the arrested accused include Dildar Pathan, Prakash Chandwani Sindhi, Firoz Pathan, Mohammad Zahid and Muzaffar Shaikh of Bhilwara district. Apart from this, Kailash Chandra Khatik and Sharif Mohammad of Chittorgarh district, Mohsin alias Sonu Shah of Rajsamand district and Gunwant Sharma, resident of Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh have also been arrested.
According to police officials, further investigation in the case is going on and efforts are being made to find out who are the other people associated with this gambling activity and what was the role of the persons who fled from the spot. Police said that action against illegal gambling activities will continue in future also.
