New Delhi, October 22 (). After Diwali, the pollution situation in the capital Delhi is becoming frightening. Aam Aadmi Party claims that the Air Quality Index (AQI) has crossed 1000 to 1500. It has become difficult for people to even breathe.
Meanwhile, politics on pollution has also become heated. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sanjid Jha has fiercely targeted the Central Government and Delhi Government.
Sanjid Jha said, “Delhi government has not failed in its work, but the central government has not been able to take any concrete steps on pollution in the last 12 years. Now when the situation has worsened, they are blaming the Delhi government. I want to ask, what concrete steps did the Center take to eliminate pollution in all these years? Tell the public what steps they took which could improve the air of Delhi.”
He also took on the BJP and the opposition on the issue of stubble burning in Punjab. Sanjeev Jha said, “When their government was being formed at the Centre, they were claiming that they would completely eliminate the pollution coming from Punjab. Now they have an ally government in Punjab too, then why is the pollution not decreasing? Putting the entire blame on Punjab will not clean the air of Delhi. The truth is that no one wants to talk about the amount of pollution in Delhi.”
Regarding Chhath festival, Sanjeev Jha said, “The religious and cultural importance of Chhath Puja is very big. We had built model Chhath Ghats in Delhi during our tenure. Now the present government is using the same ghats. The lack of new initiative is clearly visible. Chhath Puja is being organized at about 1000 to 1200 ghats in Delhi, which is the contribution of the “AAP” government. But this time the arrangements at the ghats seem weak. Bhalswa. Thousands of people reached the ghat, There remained water for three days, but no officer was seen.”
On the increasing level of pollution, MLA Jha said that Delhi’s air has now become poison. AQI in mobiles is visible from 1000 to 1500. He alleged that the pollution data of DPCC and CPCB on Diwali night was deliberately hidden, while suppressing the truth does not change it.
Jha said that despite the directions of the Supreme Court, firecrackers were being sold and burst openly. The MLA appealed to the Delhi government to ensure better arrangements for pollution control as well as events like Chhath Puja so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem.
