Lucknow, May 26 (). Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Yogi government regarding the law and order and power crisis in the state. In a press conference organized at the Samajwadi Party office, he alleged that politics of fear and domination is being done through fake encounters in Uttar Pradesh.
He said that every encounter taking place as per the wish of the government is under suspicion and the government is targeting the PDA class to show its power. The SP chief said that fake encounters in the state have now become a big political and social issue. Earlier there was a tradition of brotherhood and harmony in the society, but now an atmosphere of hatred and fear is being created. He alleged that through encounter incidents, people’s mentality is being diverted towards violence and attempts are being made to normalize incidents like murder. This is against democratic values.
He alleged that action is being taken on the basis of caste and political identity. Referring to the alleged fake encounter of a Yadav priest in Jaunpur, he said that in such cases the entire family suffers social and mental pain. Akhilesh also raised questions on the working style of the police and said that in recent times many families have come forward openly and have made allegations of fake encounters. It is clear from this that action is being taken under pressure from the government in the state.
He said that the government is doing encounter politics to establish its dominance. Akhilesh Yadav also cornered the BJP government regarding the power crisis. He said that the general public is troubled by unannounced power cuts in the scorching heat, but the government has failed to solve the problem. He alleged that in the last ten years, instead of increasing power generation, BJP has imposed economic burden on the public by merely increasing electricity rates.
He claimed that a large part of the electricity being available in the state today is coming from the projects established during the Samajwadi Party government. The SP chief also targeted the central and state governments on the economic front. He said that inflation, unemployment and corruption are continuously increasing. The problems of the common man have increased due to the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. He alleged that the BJP government has pushed Uttar Pradesh towards darkness and chaos instead of development.
