Pratapgarh/Jaipur.

Pratapgarh unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out a major action on Thursday and arrested Village Development Officer (VDO) of Suhagpura and an e-Mitra operator (middleman) red-handed. The accused had demanded bribe in exchange for registering the lease of the house. According to the ACB headquarters, the complainant had lodged a complaint that Suhagpura Village Development Officer Yashwant Joshi (who holds the additional charge of Kachotiya) had demanded a bribe of Rs 12,000 to get the lease of his house registered. He had asked to give this amount to broker Rajmal Hadoti (e-Mitra operator).
After verification of the complaint, the ACB team laid a trap today. The ACB team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh took action and arrested broker Rajmal red-handed while taking the first installment of Rs 8,000.
After the arrest of the broker, ACB made him call Village Development Officer Yashwant Joshi. During the phone conversation, the officer accepted the bribe amount and asked to come on e-Mitra for signing. The ACB also arrested the Village Development Officer after he was found to be directly involved in corruption.
This entire action was completed under the supervision of ACB Deputy Inspector General Dr. Rameshwar Singh. The Bureau has registered a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act and their interrogation is ongoing.
