Paris. Showcasing the deep and strong ties between India and France, as well as his personal friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday recorded a special farewell video message in Hindi. This message was given at a time when PM Modi was completing another successful visit to France. “Dear friend Narendra, I am very happy that you are in Paris. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you here. The friendship between India and France is immortal,” Macron said in Hindi. After this, speaking in English, he shared his views on his friendship with Prime Minister Modi.
He said, “I hope my Hindi was correct. But, my dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your friendship. France loves you. I am so happy that you are here and spending time with so many friends before returning to Delhi. I will be coming to India next February, but you are my true friend. We love you. Take care.”
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron participated in ‘VivaTech 2026’ organized in Paris, which is considered to be Europe’s largest technology and startup event.
Addressing tech entrepreneurs, startups, investors and business leaders, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s vision on the growing scope of India-France cooperation in human-centric Artificial Intelligence (AI), new technologies and emerging technologies.
He said that technology has brought big changes in India. Digital payments, advancements in agriculture with the help of AI and use of modern technologies in the space sector have given a new direction to the country.
After the keynote address, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron also met Indian startups and innovators. These startups showcased new technologies and practical solutions for sectors such as industry, healthcare, environmental protection and transportation.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said India’s relations with France are one of the strongest bilateral relationships globally. Deep cooperation between the two countries continues in space, defense and many other important areas.
