Shimla. To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the country’s first Home Minister, Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a series of programs is being organized across the country by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from 25 October to 6 December. In this sequence, a grand Unity March was organized in Shimla today, which was conducted with the cooperation of BJP Shimla and various social organizations. The march was carried out in an enthusiastic atmosphere from Dhali to Ridge Maidan, Ambedkar Chowk and Chauda Maidan, in which youth, NCC-NSS cadets and students participated in large numbers with the Tricolour. In the march, chief guest MP Suresh Kashyap was warmly welcomed by the workers and youth. The entire atmosphere was filled with the spirit of patriotism, discipline and unity, which made the journey extremely impressive and inspiring. Speaking to the media, MP Suresh Kashyap said that the foundation of modern India was laid by Sardar Patel with his foresight, strong will and indomitable courage. He said that today when India is taking strong leadership on the world stage, at its core is the same vision and foundation which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking forward in the direction appropriate to the times. Kashyap said the Modi government has taken historic steps to strengthen national unity, enhance border security and raise India’s reputation on the global stage.
MP Kashyap said that every citizen of the country is moving forward with the resolve to make India a fully developed nation by 2047. The energetic participation of youth is proof that India’s future is in safe and strong hands. He said that programs like My India Campaign and Unity March are further strengthening the feeling of patriotism, discipline and social responsibility among the youth.
During the visit, when a question was asked regarding Himachal Pradesh’s participation in various projects, MP Suresh Kashyap clearly said that Himachal must get whatever is its right. He said that when three states were formed separately, Himachal’s share was decided on the basis of population and the state should get its rights. He reiterated that protecting the interests and rights of Himachal is his top priority and no compromise on this subject is acceptable.
There was huge participation of BJP workers, social organizations, youth groups and students in the Unity March. Everyone bowed to Sardar Patel and resolved to maintain the unity, integrity and strength of the nation. The atmosphere of the program was full of enthusiasm, patriotism and determination, which made the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel a memorable event.
