Bengaluru, November 9 (). Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge has questioned RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that the Sangh functions through donations given by its volunteers.
Priyank Kharge has raised many questions on the statement of Sangh chief Bhagwat through a post on social media platform X. He asked who are these volunteers and how are they identified? What is the scale and nature of donations made? Through what mechanisms or mediums are these contributions received? If the RSS functions in a transparent manner then why donations are not made directly to the organization under its own registered identity? How does RSS maintain its financial and organizational structure despite not being a registered organization? Who pays the full-time preachers and who meets the regular operating expenses of the organization? How are large-scale events, campaigns and outreach activities financed?
Priyank Kharge asked when volunteers purchase uniforms or materials from “local offices” where are these funds accounted for? Who bears the cost of maintaining local offices and other infrastructure? These questions highlight fundamental issues of transparency and accountability. Why does the RSS remain unregistered despite its huge national presence and influence? When every religious or charitable institution in India is required to maintain financial transparency, what justifies the absence of a similar accountability mechanism for the RSS?
On the Vande Mataram controversy, Minister Priyank Kharge said that BJP and RSS prefer to live in the alternative history created by themselves. As early as the 1930s, Rabindranath Tagore had clearly stated that the song was for the motherland, not for George V, George IV or any other George. This thing is recorded in the record.
The problem of BJP and RSS is that they do not bother to read their history. I urge BJP leaders and all volunteers to read the RSS editorial articles published in Organizer magazine. When you read those editorial articles, you will understand how anti-national you have been throughout history.
