Amritsar The Punjab Police has got a major success in the campaign to make Punjab drug addicts. Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested six smugglers and recovered more than 9 kg of heroin from their possession.
Police said that two interstate drug smuggling gangs have been busted in a major operation. This action is an important step against the cross-border narco-terraler network.
A case has been registered against six smugglers at Chhalota police station. The police is interrogating the accused so that the supply chain and other members of this entire network can be detected.
According to the police, this action was taken on information from the informer. During interrogation of the arrested accused, it has been found that the main gangster of this network was Jandiala Guru’s notorious gangster Harpreet alias Happy Jatt. Initial investigation has also revealed that he was in direct contact with the smugglers in Pakistan and used to run the entire network through social media.
The Punjab Police said that it is their priority to abolish drug trafficking. Strict action will continue under the policy of zero tolerance against drug mafia and smugglers so that the youth of Punjab can be saved from drugs.
In this case, an FIR has been lodged at Chhaharata police station in Amritsar. Other members of the entire network, supply chains and cross-border links are engaged in detecting.
Security agencies believe that such operations will continue more rapidly in the coming days.
Earlier on September 17, Yasin Mohammad was arrested by the Amritsar Commissionerate Police of Punjab, Chheharrata and recovered 7.122 kg of heroin from him.
Initial investigation revealed that the syndicate was being operated by Moga resident Jagpreet Singh alias Jagga. He was in touch with Pakistan-based smugglers and was supplying heroin on his guidelines in Mallawa region of Punjab.
Police had said that the gang was supplying drugs in various parts of Punjab along with the smugglers of Pakistan.
