Raigarh, April 25 (). A major action has been taken in the police department in Raigarh district of Maharashtra. After Pen-Khopoli, now 6 policemen have been suspended in Mangaon also. This action has been taken by Raigarh Superintendent of Police Aanchal Dalal.
These six officers of the local crime investigation branch were involved in a theft incident that took place in Kolad area. The police had seized some valuables in that case, but these officers did not register the seized goods properly at Mangaon police station. Due to violation of rules and irregularities in the process, the Superintendent of Police took strict action against them.
The suspended policemen include a sub-inspector and 5 constables. Their names are – Avinash Patil, Pingale, Waghmode, Sondkar, Pahalkar and Ambal. All of them were posted in the local crime investigation branch located in Mangaon.
Superintendent of Police Aanchal Dalal has started a thorough investigation of the case. He said that if more officers are found guilty in the investigation, appropriate action will be taken against them also. Due to this incident, emphasis is being laid on maintaining discipline in the police department and following the correct procedure.
This is the second major action of suspension in Raigarh Police after the Pen-Khopoli case. Such steps are being taken to increase transparency and accountability in the police system. The common people hope that the police department will continue to improve and such irregularities will be dealt with strictly in the future.
At the same time, Superintendent of Police Aanchal Dalal has given a clear message that if the law-protecting officers themselves break the rules, no leniency will be taken against them. The investigation of the case is still ongoing and the police department may issue an official statement once further information is received.
