-Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Jaipur is progressing rapidly in the information technology sector. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Rajasthan is progressing rapidly in new emerging areas including Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. The state government has come up with 4 new policies in the last 2 years with the aim of creating a better ecosystem for areas like AI, Big Data Analytics, Block Chain, Cloud Computing, Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Extended Reality. Moving forward in the direction of creating strong digital and data infrastructure in Rajasthan, the government is now going to organize Rajasthan DigiFest Tie Global Summit-2026 from 4 to 6 January. Rajasthan Global Capability Center Policy-2025, Rajasthan, was brought to make the state an IT-ITES hub while contributing to the Digital India Mission of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajasthan Data Center Policy-2025 and Rajasthan AI ML Policy-2026 will provide employment opportunities to local talents in the state and will further boost the economy.
World class data center ecosystem will develop
Bhamashah Data Center located in Jaipur is a state of the art Tier-4 data center with 800 racks. It is the country’s largest government-owned data center. In view of the increasing utility of data and increasing dependence on data storage, establishment of data centers in the private sector is now being encouraged in Rajasthan. The aim of Rajasthan Data Center Policy-2025 is to make Rajasthan a major hub in the data center sector by developing a world-class data center ecosystem in the state. This policy will impact the efficiency, security and reliability of data centers activities. It will also help in laying down guidelines for ensuring high standards of data management, performance and security in the state.
Under this policy, several provisions have been made to encourage the data center sector, including an annual asset creation incentive of Rs 10-20 crore for 10 years, an additional 25 percent sunrise incentive for the first 3 data centers investing more than Rs 100 crore. Apart from this, provisions have also been made for 5 percent interest subsidy for 5 years, 100 percent exemption in banking, transmission and wheeling charges, flexible payment facility related to land, exemption in stamp duty, land conversion and electricity charges, and exemption from external development charges up to Rs 10 crore.
Jaipur can become the hub of GCC in IT sector
Jaipur can prove to be an ideal location for MNCs in the IT-ITeS sector to set up Global Capability Centers (GCC) due to its proximity to the National Capital Region, better connectivity, availability of high quality commercial space, availability of skilled IT professionals, low setup costs and business friendly environment. To encourage the establishment of GCC, the state government has come up with Rajasthan Global Capability Center Policy-2025.
This policy is based on the target of setting up more than 200 GCCs in the state by the year 2030, creating 1.50 lakh jobs and making a significant contribution to India’s $100 billion GCC market. Through this policy, cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur will be developed as GCC hubs. In this, the application process for GCC has been simplified so that more and more investors invest in Rajasthan.
Animation films, games and comics will get grants
To encourage local talents and resources in the field of Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality, the State Government has come up with Rajasthan RTI Policy-2024. In this policy, a provision has been made to give production subsidy to animation films, games and comics made in the state. Additional incentives will also be given to startups and enterprises focusing on local culture and content creation. Atal Innovation Studio and Accelerator will be set up to promote innovation in this sector. These studios will be equipped with coding, VFX lab and advanced computing facilities. This will also encourage young talents and create new employment opportunities.
AI ML policy will expand e-governance
Rajasthan AI ML Policy-2026 will prove helpful in developing the state as an emerging center of investment and innovation. Considering the importance of information technology in service delivery, this policy is being brought to ensure the expansion of e-governance. Responsible, ethical and safe use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and making public service delivery faster, transparent and citizen-centric through better use of AI are the main objectives of this policy.
Under this policy, special emphasis has been laid on reducing bias in AI systems, security of data and clarity of decision process. The policy also provides for clear procedures for reporting and resolving AI-related cyber crimes. The policy also includes setting up an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence in the state.
It is noteworthy that today Rajasthan is writing a new chapter of technological progress due to the initiatives taken by the state government in the IT sector, reforms related to digital governance and commitment to promote innovation. So far, more than 7 thousand 200 startups have been registered through iStart Rajasthan, in which investment of more than one thousand crore has come. In these, more than 42 thousand 500 jobs have been created.
