story of the film

This film is based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. The film also stars Diljit Dosanjh along with Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljeet Singh, Suvinder Vicky and Geetika Vidya Olyan in lead roles. The film begins with Jaswant Singh Khalra (Diljit Dosanjh) working in a bank. When one of his close relatives suddenly goes missing, Jaswant begins his personal journey to find him. During his search, Jaswant uncovers a heartbreaking truth. Under the guise of repressive operations against terrorism, the police illegally detain many innocent people and kill them in fake encounters.

The film tells how more than 25,000 Sikhs and civilians were killed and their bodies were declared unclaimed. These dead bodies were thrown into the Satluj River, which later flowed and reached far and wide. Jaswant Singh Khalra becomes a human rights activist and stands up against this state violence. A CBI officer (Arjun Rampal) also enters the story, due to which it takes the form of a suspense and investigation thriller.
