Strict action should be taken against the culprits who attacked students and used sticks, the fight did not end with the resignation of the minister: Leader of Opposition
New Delhi. After the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi attacked the RSS and the Central Government, terming the country’s education system as hollow. Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi made it clear that the resignation of just one minister will not solve the problem as the entire educational structure of the country has become hollow from within. Expressing concern over the country’s current examination controversy and the state of the education system, Rahul Gandhi said – “Our education system has been completely hollowed from within. RSS is responsible for this. Mere superficial changes will not suffice, but very strict and deep steps will have to be taken. I do not think that this government is capable of taking such strict steps, still let’s see what happens next.”

The Leader of Opposition pointed out that despite receiving the resignation of the Minister, two major and important demands of the agitating students are still incomplete, which should not be forgotten.
Strict action should be taken against the guilty policemen and organizers: Strict legal action should be taken against the officers and organizers who attack, beat and order lathicharge on innocent students who are protesting peacefully. This action should not be taken only on paper, but should be transparently visible to the students as to on what basis and what punishment has been given to the culprits.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi should demand a public apology: Being the main operator of this entire dysfunctional system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself should come forward and apologize to the students and youth of India.
Rahul Gandhi said that until transparent steps are not taken on these demands and there are radical reforms in the education system, this fight for the rights of students will continue.
