In Patna, the capital of Bihar, cyber fraudsters duped a couple claiming to be Salman Khan’s secretaries by getting them to open several bank accounts. These accounts were used to transfer money for cyber crimes. Now FIRs have been registered against the couple in many states including Bengaluru and Gujarat. The police have started investigating the matter, due to which the couple who were victims of fraud are trapped.
According to reports, Santosh Kumar and his wife, living in Biohar area of the capital, received a call. The caller introduced himself as the secretary of film actor Salman Khan and said that Salman Khan helps the poor. They will also be helped and given money. They will have to open accounts in certain banks.
Fraudsters opened accounts in many banks.
After the conversation on mobile phone, the couple opened a total of nine accounts in other banks including Central Bank, UCO Bank and Canara Bank. As per the instructions given on the phone, the ATM cards of these bank accounts were also sent to Jharkhand. The couple says that the caller promised to return the ATM after verification. After falling prey to cyber fraudsters, the couple is now wandering from door to door.
Case registered against the accused
The fraud talks that started in August continued till November. According to the couple, the caller stopped answering their calls from November 18. Now, he says he received notices from Bengaluru Police and Gujarat Police on December 1, informing him that an FIR has been registered against him. The couple has now reported the entire matter on 1930. After Beur police got information about the matter, investigation was started.
