Hyderabad. The police filed the charge sheet during the hearing of the Sandhya theater stampede case in Hyderabad’s Nampally Criminal Court on Monday. In this case related to the film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, actor Allu Arjun appeared virtually from Mumbai, but many other accused could not attend the court, due to which the court postponed the hearing till July 29. Let us tell you that the court had directed Allu Arjun to appear personally, but due to the shooting, he had appealed to the court to join the proceedings through video conferencing. This entire incident took place on 4 December 2024, when a huge crowd had gathered at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad during the premiere of the film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. At the same time, a stampede-like situation suddenly occurred, in which a woman died and her son was seriously injured. The woman was identified as M. Revathi. This incident created a stir in the entire state and many questions were raised on the security arrangements.
The police have imposed serious sections in this entire case, which also includes culpable homicide. Police allege that this accident happened due to negligence in crowd control and security arrangements and responsibility is yet to be fixed at many levels.
A total of 23 people have been made accused in this case, in which Allu Arjun has been included as accused number 11. So far, the court has sent summons to 19 accused to appear in the court.
In the investigation, the police first accused 10 people associated with the theater management. Along with this, 8 bouncers deployed for the actor’s security were also included in this case.
In this case, the court has made it clear that the formal trial of this case will be started after all the accused appear in the court.
Let us tell you that after the incident of 4 December 2024, Allu Arjun was arrested on 13 December 2024. After his arrest, he was produced in Nampally Court, from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. However, on the same day his lawyers moved the High Court and he got interim bail. He was released from jail the next day. Later he also got regular bail.
During the investigation, on December 24, the police interrogated Allu Arjun for about three hours. This inquiry was done on the basis of CCTV footage and video prepared by the police.
