The fifth month of the Hindu calendar, Shravan (also known as Sawan), is about to begin. Since the month of Shravan is very dear to Lord Shiva, devotees perform special worship of Bholenath during this time. They carry out Kanwar Yatra by bringing water from holy rivers and performing *Jalabhishek* (ritual of bathing with water) in the temples of Lord Shiva.
