New Delhi. The indefinite fast started by Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijit Deepke for his demands continued for the second day on Sunday. During this, he shared his experiences towards this peaceful medium of protest and expressed respect towards other protesters who were fasting. On Sunday, the second day of the fast, Abhijeet Deepke said that it was only after participating in the process that he realized how difficult a hunger strike actually is. He expressed solidarity with other students and social workers already agitating at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. In his statement, Deepke said, “Today is the second day of my hunger strike. Now I realize how difficult a step it is. I salute Sonam sir (Sonam Wangchuk) and all the students who are on hunger strike here. I am saving my energy for the proposed march on Monday.”
This incident has come to light amid the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar. Earlier, social activist Sonam Wangchuk was sitting on a fast at Jantar Mantar, who was taken to the hospital by the police administration on Saturday morning. After him, Abhijeet Deepke took the lead with his demands and sat on an indefinite hunger strike.
