Patients will get high quality medicines at affordable rates

Jaipur. Union Minister of State for Cooperative Shri Muralidhar Mohol, State Minister of State for Cooperative (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak and Central Cooperative Secretary Ashish Kumar Bhutani inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Charak Bhawan located in the Sawai Man Singh Hospital complex on Saturday. With the increasing demand of patients and the objective of providing high quality medicines at affordable rates to the general public, CONFED has started this second store in the hospital premises. On this occasion, the Cooperative Minister said that more than 600 medicines have been made available at the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra located at Charak Bhawan and soon it will be increased to 1500. He said that the medicines and surgical items being made available at the store are 50 to 80 percent less than the prevailing prices in the market. He said that with the opening of Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the hospital premises, patients will not have to wander for medicines and the medicines which are not available from the hospital will be available at our store at affordable rates.
DC said that similar salt medicines are being made available at affordable rates at the store started by us so that the financial burden on the patients can be reduced. He told that many times the patients in the hospital are not able to get medicines under the Chief Minister’s Free Medicine Scheme and they are forced to buy medicines from outside at higher prices. In such a situation, to provide relief to the patients, CONFED has started the second Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the hospital premises through co-operation so that they can buy high quality medicines at affordable rates in the hospital premises itself.
Government Secretary, Cooperative held a meeting with the hospital administration
Government Secretary, Cooperative Dr. Samit Sharma said that to coordinate the availability of medicines between the hospital administration and CONFED administration, SMS will be sent today. As per the consensus reached in the meeting, the list of medicines unavailable in the hospital stores will be shared with the CONFED administration every week so that those medicines can be made available at the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra and other cooperative pharmacy stores.
Dr. Samit Sharma said that doctors should prescribe medicines only by generic names so that the financial burden on patients can be reduced. In this regard, the state government has issued orders in the year 2013.
Dr. Sharma told that S.M.S. The opening hours of CONFED’s pharmacy stores operating in the hospital premises have been reduced to 16 hours so that the patients do not face any problem in the availability of medicines. He told that now medicines will be available to the patients from 8 am to 12 midnight. The range of medicines is being increased at all cooperative pharmacy stores.
Regarding the quality of generic medicines, the Government Secretary said that all the medicines and surgical items being made available through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra are released in the market only after fulfilling all the quality related parameters. He said that the effect of these medicines is in no way less than the branded medicines of similar salt. He said that the reason for low price of generic medicines is the expenditure on their branding and the absence of commission from various C&Fs, distributors etc. in the market.
The price of medicines available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra is so low.
The LS belt which is available in the market for Rs 800 is available at Jan Aushadhi Center for only Rs 380. Similarly, a pack of 10 diapers used for adults is available for only Rs 405 instead of Rs 650. Similarly, our price of Cervical Collar Soft is only Rs 120. Blood pressure measuring machines, glucometers, thermometers and all other types of surgical items and sutures are available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra at 50 to 80 percent less than the market rates.
