New Delhi, July 24 (). Social activist Sonam Wangchuk broke her 26-day fast late on Thursday night. Sonam took the decision to break the fast after meeting Union Minister JP Nadda and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh.
Sonam Wangchuk had started a fast on June 28 in support of the ongoing agitation at Jantar Mantar by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over the NEET paper leak. Meanwhile, Sonam was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after her health deteriorated. After this, Sonam was admitted to Medanta Hospital on the orders of Delhi High Court.
Sonam Wangchuk wrote on social media platform I will describe these conditions in detail in the video. In the meantime, I urge you all to remain completely vigilant to prevent any kind of violence.”
Earlier late on Thursday night, PM Modi released a video message on social media and informed the youth, students and parents of the country about taking major steps to stop paper leaks. PM Modi said that a draft related to this will be presented in the cabinet meeting to be held on Friday.
PM Modi said that I know that paper leak is not a trivial matter. It is very painful for lakhs of students and their parents, hence many steps have been taken in the last two and a half months to deal with the incident of paper leak. The culprits have been caught and are in jail. Our most important responsibility was to ensure that not one year of the students was wasted.
He further said that it was necessary to take the test immediately. Using full power, the government arranged the examination of 22 lakh students in minimum time. The results also came 5 to 6 days ago, on the 19th. There are also happy reports of students passing out across the country. But we are not among those who believe in complacency, that is why I gave instructions to the departments today. Today, the departments worked hard and submitted their drafts late at night. The draft with provisions for fast track courts and harsher punishment will be discussed in the cabinet on Friday. It will be finalized after suggestions from cabinet colleagues. The second week of Parliament is starting from Monday, then efforts will be made to pass this bill in the House as soon as possible.
