Special edition of 'Sunday on Cycle' organized on completion of one year of 'Operation Sindoor'

The ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event celebrated every Sunday under the Fit India program was organized at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi, in which a large number of local people along with many athletes participated. The purpose of the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program organized under the Fit India program at Major Dhyanchand Stadium was very special this time. This time the Sunday on Cycle program was organized in collaboration with the Indian Army to commemorate the completion of one year of ‘Operation Vermillion’ and the victory of the Indian Army. Taking revenge of the attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025, the Indian Army had destroyed terrorist hideouts in PoK under ‘Operation Vermillion’. In this operation, the Indian Army also caused huge damage to the Pakistani Army and made the world realize the strength of India. This victory of the Indian Army was celebrated in ‘Sunday on Cycle’.
Apart from youth, a large number of local people of other age groups also participated enthusiastically in the program and spread awareness about health. Athletes Priya Malik and Deeksha Malik were the main attractions of the event. Both advised the youth to be aware of health and fitness regularly.
Speaking to , wrestler Deeksha Malik said, “Sunday on Cycle program is very good for health. Every person, irrespective of age group, should be a part of this program. There is thrill in it and at the same time it also increases the sense of unity, which makes the country stronger.”
The Sunday on Cycle program was started by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in December 2024. It was started by the Minister of the Department, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. The main objective of this program is to spread health awareness among the citizens of the country. Cycling is also being promoted with the aim of reducing obesity. The government believes that only healthy citizens can build a healthy, strong and developed country. Apart from this, the objective of the program is also environmental protection. Cycling can make the environment clean and pollution free.
