There is good news for the youth preparing for government jobs. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started the recruitment process for many important posts including Income Tax Inspector through SSC CGL 2026 exam. The candidates selected through this recruitment process will get an opportunity to work in the Income Tax Department under the Central Government.
Recruitment will be done in different central departments through SSC CGL 2026. The post of Income Tax Inspector is one of the most important roles in the Income Tax Department. Candidates selected for this post are responsible for investigating tax related matters, scrutinizing documents and handling departmental work.
The age limit of those applying for the post of Income Tax Inspector has been fixed at minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years. However, reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per Central Government rules.
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Candidates who have done graduation in any discipline are eligible to apply for SSC CGL 2026.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of SSC CGL exam. First there will be Tier 1 exam, followed by Tier 2 exam for successful candidates. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in both the stages. In the last stage, eligible candidates will be appointed after verification of documents.
Candidates selected as Income Tax Inspector will get salary under Pay Level 8. Salary will initially range from ₹47,600 per month to ₹1.51 lakh per month. Apart from this, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA) and other government benefits will also be given.
Candidates should first visit the official website of SSC, ssc.gov.in. Next, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process. Then, click on SSC CGL 2026 Application link and fill the required information. Upload the required documents, check all the information, submit the form and keep the printout for future reference.
