Chandigarh. The meeting of Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla. Commissioner Amit Kumar, Special Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, committee members Saurabh Joshi, Gurpreet Singh, Jasmanpreet Singh, Suman Devi and senior officials of the Municipal Corporation were present in the meeting. During the meeting the committee approved several important works related to storm water drainage, water supply strengthening and improvement of public infrastructure in various areas of the city. The main approved works are:
Sector-14/15/24/25: Laying of storm water drainage pipeline of 900 mm, 600 mm and 450 mm diameter for drainage of excess rain water from residential area of Panjab University (Cost: Rs 26.98 lakh).
Sector-49 Goodwill Enclave: Laying of new parallel line in place of jammed existing SWD line (Cost: Rs 30.56 lakh).
Dhanas Milk Colony: Laying of 100–200 mm diameter ductile iron water supply lines near the park (Cost: Rs 28.01 lakh).
Mauli Jagran Complex: Special repair of community center (Cost: Rs 48.74 lakh).
Sector-43 Government Quarters: Installing new storm water drainage system around house numbers 14–33, 43, 61–67, 73–82 and 873 (Cost: Rs 48.15 lakh).
Sector-16D Market/Showroom: Flooring upgradation at front and rear of SCO 21–85 (Cost: Rs 27.86 lakh).
The committee said that the completion of these projects will improve the drainage system of the city, strengthen the water supply and improve the level of public facilities. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments that all the work should be completed within the prescribed time limit and as per the quality standards.
