Sambhaji Nagar, July 23 (). Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat said that the future of students should not be politicized. He termed the police lathicharge on the protesters as wrong, supported consideration of the important demands of the students, including action on cases registered against the protesters, and appealed to all parties to keep the movement focused on the interests of the students.
Speaking to on Thursday, he said that Congress cannot be the future of students. Students are basically students, who have no affiliation with any political party. Purely students are worried about their future. Seeing this, every person in the society looks at him sympathetically, whether he is in the ruling party or the opposition party. Every political party in India is worried about the students.
Minister Sanjay Shirsat said that at present Rahul Gandhi is doing politics by mentioning all these issues, which cannot be accepted at any cost. He is trying to present himself among the people. But, I want to make one thing clear that now even the agitators are not going to accept his language. Rahul Gandhi is trying to send a message among the agitators that we are with you.
He said that if any suspicious activity is seen at the protest site, action will definitely be taken by the Central Government. Such activities cannot be justified. If any student faces any kind of problem, if he loses his life, if his head gets injured, then it is not right at all. The government is trying to ensure that students do not suffer any kind of harm. In such a situation, all activities related to the movement are being monitored.
He also reacted to the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). According to him, this party was formed only to raise issues in the interest of students. But, people from other political parties are joining this party to straighten their own agenda. These people are making fake claims that we are with you. By doing this these people are trying to mislead the movement. The government will definitely consider the legitimate demands of the students.
The minister also expressed his views regarding Abhijeet Dipke. He said that Abhijeet Dipke is a voter of my assembly constituency. Our child is agitating in Delhi. Given the current situation at the protest site, it is natural for him to be disturbed. Every parent is worried that their child does not face any kind of problem. The police is giving him full security.
On the lathicharge on protesting students, he said that this cannot be supported. No party can support lathi charge. The police should act with restraint and try to ensure that the movement takes place peacefully.
