Bhilwara. Farmer Ramraj Bairwa, resident of village Pander of Jahazpur Panchayat Samiti of the district, has taken an inspiring initiative towards adopting organic farming by taking advantage of the Govardhan Organic Fertilizer Scheme of the Rajasthan Government. In the last financial year, he had applied for the construction of vermi beds through the Agriculture Department, the administrative approval for which was issued on time. After the plan was approved, the local agriculture supervisor provided him detailed technical information about vermi bed construction. As per departmental guidelines, Ramraj Bairwa constructed two vermi beds of 10 feet length, 3 feet width and 2 feet height. After completion of the construction work, physical verification was also done on time by the Agriculture Department. Ramraj Bairwa started the process of preparing organic fertilizer by using cow dung and earthworms in vermi bed. Their objective is to increase soil fertility and promote environment-friendly farming by using organic fertilizers in the fields instead of chemical fertilizers.
He said that Govardhan Organic Fertilizer Scheme is proving to be extremely useful for the farmers. Through this scheme, quality organic fertilizer can be prepared at low cost, which reduces the cost of farming and improves the quality of production. They are also motivating other farmers of their area to take benefits by giving them information about this scheme.
Expressing his gratitude to the state government and the agriculture department, farmer Ramraj Bairwa said that the farmer-friendly schemes of the government are playing an important role in making the farmers self-reliant as well as in encouraging organic farming.
