Ajmer. Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has given strict instructions to the water supply department that water supply in Ajmer city should not be disrupted in any way within 48 hours during the summer season. Officers should remain in the field and continuously monitor. He expressed displeasure over the negligence in the work of JEN and AEN officers and said that the work of the common people should be done seriously. He also reviewed the budget announcements and said that the work should be expedited.
Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani held a meeting of water supply department officials at the Circuit House on Thursday. He said that this time summer has started early. The weather will remain hot till July. Water consumption will increase, this is a challenging time for the department. Ajmer is getting adequate water supply from now on. In such a situation, there should be no problem in the city. Officers should remain in the field and do regular monitoring. Common people should get water within 48 hours. Negligence will not be tolerated in this. In the meeting, he took information from the officials of the Public Health and Engineering Department about the progress of Amrit Yojana 2.0, the situation of starting supply from the newly constructed water tank in village Makadwali and Lohagal, the progress of supply from the newly constructed water tank in Boraj Rawat Nagar, Idgah, Military School, the progress of the pipeline being laid from Varun Sagar to the filter plant and the repair work of the road damaged during laying of the line. Shri Devnani instructed the officials to do adequate monitoring to ensure that the people of the area do not have to worry about drinking water in the coming summer season.
The officers were informed about the status of the bulk meters installed as per the zone, the process of making DPR as per the budget announcement for adequate drinking water supply in the rural areas included in the delimitation of Municipal Corporation, Ajmer, the progress of hand pumps and tube wells in the budget announcement.
Under the budget announcement 2025-26, Devnani reviewed the construction works of common intake well, raw water transmission line, water purification plant with clear water transmission line and clean reservoir under Bisalpur Jaipur Drinking Water Project Stage II (Phase-II) for the drinking water supply of Ajmer city.
Similarly, to meet the drinking water requirement of Ajmer city, construction of service reservoir at a cost of Rs 270 crore and pipeline work from Nasirabad to Nausarghati-Kotra area, pipeline work between Thadoli and Kekri in Kekdi area near Bhansu village at a cost of Rs 24 crore 81 lakh, pipeline work between Goyla to Nasirabad in Ajmer area at a cost of Rs 34 crore 95 lakh, Ajmer and Took information about the progress of the work of installation of bus transfer system by connecting Thadoli, Kekdi, Goyla and Nasirabad pump houses with double feeder at a cost of Rs 5 crore 60 lakh for Kekdi, construction of common intake well with transmission line at a cost of Rs 265 crore 25 lakh for Ajmer (Phase-3), Jaipur (Phase-2) under Bisalpur Drinking Water Scheme.
