New Delhi. The Supreme Court will hear on July 13 (Monday) the petitions demanding investigation into the alleged irregularities in the amount of offerings in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant will hear the case. The bench also includes Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice VS Mohana. Along with the PIL filed by advocates Ajay Kumar Rai and Dinesh Kumar Yadav, RJD MP Sudhakar Singh’s petition is also listed for hearing in the Supreme Court.
The petition demands an impartial investigation into the allegations of misuse of funds and financial irregularities of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The petitioners have sought directions from the court to register an FIR in connection with the irregularities.
The petition also requested that a special investigation team be formed under the leadership of the Central Bureau of Investigation for an impartial and time-bound investigation of the case. He says that the investigation should make it clear whether there has been any kind of irregularities, embezzlement or corruption in the funds received as donations or not.
The petitioners have also demanded from the Supreme Court that the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and the Uttar Pradesh government be directed to develop strong audit and investigation mechanisms to monitor the funds and properties of the trust, so that such complaints are not repeated in future.
Apart from this, directions have also been sought to preserve bank account details, donation registers, audit reports, CCTV footage, computer data and other related records till the completion of the investigation. An appeal has also been made to ban destroying, removing or tampering with any document or evidence related to the case.
Let us tell you that after the meeting of Ram Mandir Trust, information about the resignation of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra also came to light. At the same time, Ayodhya Police has arrested many people in the case and investigation is going on.
