TB awareness campaign organized in Rampura Agucha mine of Hindustan Zinc, message of ‘TB free India’ given

Special sessions aimed at increasing public awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) were organized by Rampura Agucha Mine of Hindustan Zinc Limited under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Ajmer Region. Through this campaign, the local community, students and mine workers were made aware about the symptoms, prevention and treatment of TB. Regional Mining Geologist of Indian Bureau of Mines, Ajmer Mr. Dilip Jain and Assistant Mining Engineer Mr. Pushkar Kulkarni were present as chief guests in the program. During this, Principal of Zinc School Mr. Ashish Vijayvargiya, Head of Geology and Mineral Exploration Mr. Ashutosh Pathak and Chief Medical Officer of Zinc Hospital Dr. Deepak Gautam and many senior officials participated.
During the awareness sessions, experts told that persistent cough, fever, weight loss and night sweats can be the main symptoms of TB. Dr. Deepak Gautam emphasized that TB is definitely an infectious disease, but with timely testing and regular treatment, it can be completely cured. In the session, detailed information was given on preventive measures like maintaining cleanliness, eating nutritious food and being careful while coughing.
This campaign was organized with the aim of strengthening the resolve of the Prime Minister ‘TB Free India Campaign’. During this, information about free testing and treatment facilities provided by the government was also shared. Appreciating this effort of Hindustan Zinc, the guests present appealed to every section of the society for cooperation in eradicating this disease.
