Elon Musk’s company, Tesla, is working on creating a new and more affordable SUV. According to a Reuters report, this upcoming Tesla vehicle will be cheaper than the Model 3—which is Tesla’s most affordable car right now. The current price of Tesla Model 3 is $37,000 (₹34.35 lakh). It is expected that this new SUV will be launched at an even lower price.

Tesla’s upcoming vehicle will be a completely new model. According to the report, the length of this new Tesla is expected to be around 4.3 meters. The report further states that initially, this Tesla SUV will be manufactured at the company’s Shanghai plant. Production of this model is also planned to begin in Europe and the United States.
The motive behind the new Tesla car
Sources associated with this project said that the company is planning to reduce the cost of car parts. A small battery pack can be used in this new Tesla vehicle. This means that the driving range of this car will be less compared to other models of the company. Apart from this, it is expected that this vehicle will be made lightweight, its weight will be around 1,500 kg.
When can it be launched?
According to the report, Tesla has contacted several suppliers in recent weeks regarding this new vehicle. This suggests that production of the car is unlikely to begin this year, and information about the launch date will be announced later. It is also worth noting that the company has recently stopped the production of its Model S and Model X vehicles.
