Jodhpur. On the auspicious occasion of Chhoti Diwali in Agricultural University, Prof. (Dr.) Virendra Singh Jaitawat assumed the charge of Kul Guru. On Sunday, Vice Chancellor of BTU and Acting Vice Chancellor of Agricultural University, Prof. Akhil Ranjan Garg handed over the charge to him.
When Kul Guru Dr. Jaitawat reached the university, he was given a grand welcome by the heads of various departments, deans, teachers and non-academic members by wearing a flower bunch, traditional tilak, turban and garland. On this occasion, he said that leading a prestigious institution like Agricultural University is an opportunity of pride and very important responsibility for me. Therefore, while fulfilling the responsibility of this important post, my aim will be to take farmers and agriculture sector to new heights by making full use of innovations like AI and drone technology in the field of agriculture.
He said that under the National Education Policy, more emphasis will be given on skill development. Since agriculture is a land related matter, the emphasis will be on connecting the students with practical education while realizing the goal of ‘Make in India’ so that the students can move ahead in startups.
Will emphasize on simplification of technology:
Talking about research, he said that by simplifying all the new research and technologies coming in the agriculture sector, my efforts will be paramount to connect more and more farmers with them and benefit them.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaitawat said that Rajasthan’s only farmer skill development center is located in Agricultural University, Jodhpur, by making full use of it, more and more youth and farmers will be connected with skill development. He said that he will make every effort to live up to the trust the government has placed on him for this responsibility.

The members of the university expressed immense happiness on this occasion. He said that the scholarship and efficient leadership ability of Kul Guru Dr. Jaitawat will not only inspire the students but his long experience in the agriculture sector will also take the institute to new heights in the field of education, extension and research.
