The country is moving rapidly towards the goal of developed India: Amit Shah

Jammu. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting to review the progress of development projects in Jammu on Saturday. During the meeting, the Union Home Minister comprehensively reviewed the developments in key sectors such as road infrastructure, hydropower projects, power, industry, tourism, 4G and optical fiber connectivity. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Home Secretary and senior officials of the Central Government and Jammu and Kashmir Government. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the vision of a developed and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. The sustained and dedicated efforts being made by the Modi government to accelerate development have resulted in unprecedented progress in development projects in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir needs to develop its full potential of hydro power projects. Special attention should be paid to achieving 100% saturation of the government’s public welfare schemes and ensuring that the beneficiaries get the benefits of all development projects.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that to connect the youth with development, attention should be given to developing sports infrastructure and establishing sports academies. An effort will be made to invest around Rs 200 crore in this regard by talking to various sports bodies.
There should be efforts to promote the dairy sector in Jammu and Kashmir through the National Dairy Development Board. In a significant move, Jammu and Kashmir has for the first time been brought under the ambit of the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme in FY 2025-26, which will provide 50-year interest-free loans for capital projects. The Home Minister emphasized that stronger fiscal discipline will help stabilize the fiscal deficit of the Union Territory over time.
Amit Shah said that the country is rapidly moving towards the goal of a developed India by the completion of 100 years of independence in the year 2047 and the Government of India will continue to provide full assistance to Jammu and Kashmir to achieve this goal. The visit of Home Minister Amit Shah reflects the determination of the Government of India to make the development, peace and security of Jammu and Kashmir a top national priority. –
