Bhilwara. The one-day visit of State Deputy Chief Minister and District Incharge Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa to Bhilwara remained a mere formality. In the press briefing organized to commemorate the completion of two years of the present government, tall claims of development were made, but when the time came to raise questions on the reality, the Deputy Chief Minister was seen hastily ending the program and leaving, avoiding the questions of the journalists. During the press briefing, Dr Bairwa spoke at length about the “phenomenal and remarkable work” allegedly done in Rajasthan by the “double engine government” led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He said that under the campaign “Nav Uthan – Nai Pehchan, Badta Rajasthan – Hamara Rajasthan” programs are being organized across the state and the public is getting direct benefits from it. But the journalists present at the press briefing saw less ground truth in these claims and more paper achievements. Despite building bridges of development, when questions were asked on real issues, the Deputy Chief Minister’s lack of concrete answers was clearly visible.
Dr. Bairwa claimed that most of the promises in the manifesto have been fulfilled and the remaining will also be fulfilled soon. He also said that the government does what it says. But no concrete data or evidence was presented to support these claims.
Talking about the launch of Ram Setu project under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he claimed that many districts of Rajasthan have got water, while he also counted the success of power generation, new GSS, road development, poor welfare and examination system as major achievements of the government. It was also claimed that not a single paper was leaked in two years, about which the opposition and the youth have already been raising questions.
Regarding the MoU of Rising Rajasthan, it was also said that most of the agreements have been implemented on the ground, while the actual results of investment and employment at the ground level are still not visible.
Overall, this press briefing remained more of a platform for self-praise than achievements, where the respondents thought it better to leave the stage even before questions were asked.
On this occasion, MP Damodar Aggarwal, MLA Ashok Kothari, Shahpura MLA Lalaram Bairwa, BJP District President Prashant Mewada, Mayor Rakesh Pathak and other public representatives and media representatives were present.
