Jaipur. Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar said in the Assembly on Monday that the Energy Department has prepared a proposal to open a new Assistant Engineer office in Shambhugarh of Asind Assembly constituency for the convenience of consumers. Which will be sent to the Finance Department for approval and as soon as the approval is received the office will be started soon.
The Minister of State for Energy was answering the supplementary questions asked in this regard by MLA Jabbar Singh Sankhla during the Question Hour. He said that at present 52,425 consumers are registered in Assistant Engineer Office Asind and 47,760 consumers are registered in Assistant Engineer Office Hurra. In view of the increasing number of consumers, a new Assistant Engineer office has been proposed in Shambhugarh by dividing the consumers from both the offices. He said that according to the proposal, 16,637 consumers from Assistant Engineer Office Asind and 16,195 consumers from Hurra will be transferred to Shambhugarh office. After this, the number of consumers in the new Assistant Engineer Office Shambhugarh will be 32,832. After this change, 35,788 consumers will remain in Asind office and 31,565 consumers will remain in Hurra office.
Nagar clarified that as per the prescribed parameters, in the present circumstances in Asind assembly constituency, it is possible to open a new Assistant Engineer office only in Shambhugarh. Due to the number of consumers being less than the prescribed norms in village Brahmin village Sareri, a new Assistant Engineer office cannot be opened here.
Earlier, in a written reply to the member’s original question, the Minister of State for Energy said that as per the order of the State Government, Energy Department dated March 15, 2018, as per the criteria for opening new offices, the criteria for opening a rural subdivision office has been set to be 22 thousand electricity consumers. At present, Junior Engineer office is established in Sareri village of Brahmins of Asind assembly constituency. In which the number of consumers is 18,556, and in view of the proposal of a new Assistant Engineer office in Shambhugarh under Asind assembly constituency, after the removal of 4768 consumers from the Brahmin community, the number of consumers in the Brahmin community will be 13,788. Which is less than the criteria set by the state government for creating sub-divisional offices. Therefore, opening of a new Assistant Engineer office in Brahmin-owned Sareri was not found feasible as per the above criteria.
