Chandigarh. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has launched a scathing attack on the statement made by Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa that the land of Sangrur is a ‘termite’ breeding ground. Dhaliwal termed it as a symbol of Bajwa’s poor mentality and his ignorance towards the glorious history of Punjab. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Dhaliwal said that Pratap Singh Bajwa should have read the history of Sangrur before speaking. It is extremely shameful to call the land which gave birth to great patriots like Shaheed-e-Azam Udham Singh, Sewa Singh Thikriwala, Namdhari Kuka Lahar and princely movements, a ‘termite’. He said that Sangrur is the district which has always led the revolutionary waves, be it the freedom struggle or the recent farmers’ movement. Dhaliwal asked whether the Congress leader Sant Ram Singla on whose death anniversary Bajwa was speaking was also a ‘termite’? He said that how did the conscience of former minister Vijay Inder Singla present there not stop him from asking what Bajwa was saying to the land of Sangrur? According to Bajwa, were former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and her freedom fighter father Hira Singh Bhattal also ‘termites’? Bajwa should immediately apologize to the people of Punjab and the residents of Sangrur.
Hitting back at Congress, Dhaliwal said that in reality Congress is the ‘termite’ which has looted the country and Punjab for 75 years. He said that Bajwa Saheb, you are the leader of that party which imposed emergency in Punjab, conducted Operation Blue Star, massacred Sikhs and got thousands of youth killed in false police encounters. From the coal scam to the corruption of ministers like Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and Ashu during the Captain government, your party has only ruined Punjab.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that Aam Aadmi Party is not an ordinary party, but a wave that arose from the same revolutionary soil of Sangrur, which shook the roots of big political forts like Captain Amarinder Singh, Badal family and Bhattal.
He warned that the wave that started from Sangrur will reach Bajwa’s stronghold Qadian in 2027 and will completely wipe out the Congress. Last time there were 92 seats, next time it will cross 100 because the people of Punjab will no longer tolerate the ‘loot and plunder’ politics of Congress.
