A Bengaluru court has issued a third non-bailable warrant against Prakash Raj.

Non-bailable warrant against Prakash Raj

According to reports, it is being said that after three consecutive warrants being issued, the risk of arrest against him has increased considerably. The matter is related to 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During this time, Prakash Raj had contested the elections as an independent candidate from Bengaluru Central seat. After this, in the year 2023, K., a lawyer from Bengaluru. Dilip Kumar filed a petition in the court alleging that Prakash Raj’s name is registered in the voter list of four different places, disregarding the rules.

This is the whole matter

According to the complaint, his name is registered at two different places in Shantinagar in Bengaluru, Velachery in Chennai and Serilingampalli assembly constituency in Telangana. According to the election law of India, any citizen can keep his voter registration at only one place in the country. Having more than one place name is legally listed as a crime.

The court has been adopting a strict stance in this matter since the beginning. First of all, summons were sent to the actor through the Police Commissioner on 17 February 2026, but he was not found at his given address. After this, when the court came to know that he had vacated the house, the first non-bailable warrant was issued on 17 March 2026. After this, when he did not appear in the court on April 17, another warrant came. Now after the presiding officer returned from training, a third warrant has been issued against him on June 12, 2026. The next hearing of this case has been fixed on July 25, 2026.

Prakash Raj’s clarification

However, Prakash Raj has his own separate claim on all these allegations. He says that he exercises his franchise only in Tamil Nadu and the fact that his name is in the voter list of other states is completely false and baseless.
