Sirohi District Transport Officer Rameshwar Prasad Vaishnav said that under this scheme, a cash prize of ₹ 25,000 and a citation will be given to the passers-by. Apart from the individual awards, 10 national level awards will be presented every year to the most deserving Rahveers selected from among the Rahveers honored throughout the year, each award amounting to ₹1 lakh.
According to Vaishnav, the main objective of this scheme is to motivate and encourage people to help road accident victims in emergency situations and boost their morale through cash awards and certificates. Additionally, efforts are being made to save lives during the golden hour (the period one hour after a serious injury occurs). He urged the public to actively participate in saving road accident victims.
Who will be the travelers?
According to District Transport Officer Vaishnav, Rahveer is a person who, in good faith, voluntarily, and without expectation of any reward or compensation, provides immediate medical service or assistance to the victim at the accident site and transports the victim to the hospital. Rahveer will not be liable for any civil or criminal proceedings for any injury or death caused to the victim in a motor vehicle accident.
