Udaipur. Trade Test and First Aid Competition was organized under the 49th Mine Safety Week by Mines Safety Association, Udaipur under the aegis of Directorate General of Mine Safety, Udaipur Zone, at Jawar Mines, hosted by Hindustan Zinc Limited. Under this, various first aid teams of open cast and underground mines of organized and unorganized sector and participants from various trades participated. Apart from this, poster slogan and essay writing competition was also organized. Director Mines Safety Tom Mathew, Deputy Director Mines Safety Vishal Goyal, IBU CEO of Jawar Mines Anshul Kumar Khandelwal and Senior Vice President of Jawar Mines Mazdoor Union Jaswant Singh were present as chief guests in the program. Apart from this, officials of various mines and senior officials of mining institutions also participated in the program. Thereafter, Deputy Director Mines Safety Vishal Goyal described the outline of the program of trade test and first aid competition in detail. Apart from this, Anshul Kumar Khandelwal also guided the participants according to this year’s theme ‘Breathe safely, beat the heat, get rid of silicosis and heatstroke’. Director Mines Safety Tom Mathew greeted the participants while inspecting the first aid teams after the flag off and oath taking. Trade Test participants from various mines enthusiastically participated in the Trade Test Competition. Under which a total of 330 participants from 12 trades of open cast mines, 16 of underground mines and 6 trades of beneficiation plants participated. Along with this, 15 first aid teams from different mines participated in this competition.
Deputy Director Mines Safety Vishal Goyal announced a total of 191 winners of the trade test including first, second and third place prizes in all trades, who will be honored at the closing ceremony of the Mine Safety Week held in the month of December. After this, the winners of poster, slogan and essay writing competitions were awarded. In the open cast category of First Aid competition, M/s Aditya Limestone Mines got first position, M/s JK Cement Amalgamated got second position and M/s Birla Cement Limestone Mines got third position. In the underground mines category of the first aid competition, Jawar Mines Team A stood first, Sindesar Khurd Mines stood second and Volkem Mines stood third. In the end, vote of thanks was expressed by Ankit Jain of Hindustan Zinc Limited.
