Jaipur. Governor Haribhau Bagde held a special meeting of officials at Lok Bhavan on Friday regarding the schemes and problems related to the welfare of Scheduled Tribes. During this, he took point-wise information about the schemes related to tribal development and also instructed the officers to take personal interest and make practical efforts to solve the problems of tribal areas and ensure proper utilization of the budget amount allocated under various heads.
Governor Bagde clearly stated in the meeting in a strict tone that the officials should effectively monitor the hostels and residential schools running in the tribal areas. Strict action should be taken against any kind of negligence in this regard. Expressing displeasure over the hostels earmarked for tribal students being used for other government work, he said that spreading education in tribal areas should be our priority. The Governor also gave special instructions to use the budget allocated in schemes related to tribal areas in a transparent manner. He also instructed to monitor Jal, Dharti Aaba, scholarship schemes for tribal students in every house and to conduct social audit of the schemes from time to time. He said that teachers in tribal areas are interested in providing quality education, they should also be benefited from skill development schemes in future and they should be benefited well under coaching facilities.
Bagde interacted with the District Collectors posted in tribal areas through video conference in the meeting. He said that the District Collector should take special interest in the implementation of tribal schemes. Monitor each scheme at your own level. Ensure achievement of set targets and how tribal people get benefits in reality instead of paperwork. He said that the teachers in the schools and higher educational institutions of tribal areas should provide education to the local students considering them as their children.
He instructed the officers of Tribal Area Development Department to themselves monitor the departments related to roads, electricity, water, education and other development schemes under the development of tribal areas. He also stressed on encouraging tribal youth for research schemes in tribal areas under Manikya Lal Research Institute. He clearly said that the responsibility of the Tribal Area Development Department is not only the implementation of the schemes of the Tribal Development Department but the officers associated with the district administration are also responsible for the overall development of the tribal area. He has stressed on timely completion of the development targets of the Central and State Government as well as continuous efforts to improve the economic condition of tribal areas.
The Governor directed for effective and practical implementation of roads, electricity, water, education and other development schemes at the district level under the development of tribal areas.
The Governor also took special information about the accounts opened under Jan Dhan Yojana, families benefited under ‘Har Ghar Jal’, works done for agricultural development under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, progress of construction of pucca roads in every village, status of health services in villages, Ayushman Bharat Scheme etc.
Bagde also stressed on making efforts for entrepreneurship and skill development in tribal areas. He said that natural vegetable products should be effectively marketed in tribal areas.
Tribal Regional Development Department Minister Babulal Kharadi expressed the need for everyone to work together for tribal welfare. Additional Chief Secretary Kunjilal Meena gave information about the work being done under tribal schemes. Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Prithvi instructed the officials of the tribal areas to have complete information about the schemes themselves and to implement them in a timely manner.
