Mumbai Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday accused the Election Commission of creating irregularities in the municipal elections. He claimed that we have heard more complaints in this election than we have heard in any other election. This kind of situation is absolutely fine in a democratic system. Uddhav Thackeray said in the press conference that in the Maharashtra municipal elections, ink is being applied on the hands of the voters, so that it can be shown that they have exercised their franchise. I have also personally received many complaints in this regard, which is not appropriate in any way in a healthy democratic process. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said it was unfortunate that even a minister had to struggle so much to find his polling booth during voting. What could be more tragic for us than this?
He said that this entire situation has exposed the chaos that took place during the elections. The kind of chaos being maintained by the Election Commission clearly shows that a conspiracy is being hatched to kill democracy, which cannot be accepted under any circumstances.
He demanded that keeping in mind the negligence in the Municipal Corporation elections, action should be taken against the Election Commission employees. Municipal Corporation elections are being held after many years. Despite this, such negligence is coming to light. After all, what is the Election Commission doing? What salary are the officers working in this commission taking? The Election Commission is also a servant of the people in a democratic system, and not the king. The kind of chaos that is being seen in a democratic system is inappropriate.
