Varanasi, January 13 (). Police arrested an accused in the cough syrup smuggling case containing codeine in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The accused named Aditya, who has been arrested by the police, is said to be the cousin brother of mastermind Shubham Jaiswal. Whose shop is in the name of Swastik Pharma which is situated in Saptsagar Dawa Mandi.
According to the police, Aditya Jaiswal has been running this shop for about seven-eight years. Shubham Jaiswal’s father Bhola Prasad Jaiswal had opened a company in Ranchi in the name of Shaili Traders, which was supervised by Shubham Jaiswal and his father Bhola Prasad. About two years ago, the firms which Shubham Jaiswal along with his cousin Aditya Jaiswal and other accused were opened under a criminal conspiracy to make fake tax invoice bills and e-bills, so that Phensidil cough syrup could be shown only on papers and could be supplied elsewhere and sold at higher profits. One of those firms was named Shiv Enterprises.
During interrogation, the accused told that Shubham Jaiswal is my aunt’s son and Bhola Prasad Jaiswal is my maternal uncle. Shubham Jaiswal and my uncle told me about earning money by doing medicine business together. I was aware of the entire incident that these people together were earning huge profits by black marketing of banned cough syrup, and whatever work these people did, they did it completely in writing.
Shubham Jaiswal used to say that the medicine being supplied is on paper and tax is also deposited on it. No one will be able to catch hold of the papers, so there is nothing to fear. You work and earn money, on which I also started doing this wrong work along with those people. I go to Indian Bank branch Pili Kothi and deposit cash. Shubham Jaiswal gives me money and I used to take it and deposit it in the bank. By mistake I had written my name and mobile number on a slip due to which I was caught.
