The budget for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly today. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna will present the 10th budget of the state. This will be the last budget for the second term of the Yogi government before the assembly elections to be held next year. The budget size is expected to be more than ₹9 lakh crore.
The budget session of Uttar Pradesh began on February 9, 2026 with the speech of Governor Anandiben Patel. On February 10, the proceedings were adjourned after paying tribute to the deceased members of the House. The Finance Minister will now present the budget in the House at 11 am today. Before the presentation of the budget, a cabinet meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. The budget proposal will be finalized in this meeting to be held at the Chief Minister’s residence at 9 am.
These projects will be discussed in the cabinet meeting
The cabinet meeting is expected to approve the construction and operation of UPCDA, Lucknow Metro, and development and allotment of properties of Ghaziabad Development Authority. Apart from this, proposals to present CAG report on Public Sector Enterprises and AYUSH Department may also be approved.

What is expected in the budget of ₹9 lakh crore?
According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh government may present a huge budget of around ₹9 lakh crore this year. In view of the assembly elections to be held next year, a special fund may be announced for employment generation and startups. There may also be big announcements in the budget regarding self-employment and security schemes for women.
The government can increase the honorarium of Shiksha Mitras and instructors in the budget. Recently, the Supreme Court has ordered to increase the honorarium of the instructor and to pay the dues. About 25,000 instructors and 1.43 lakh Shiksha Mitras are working in the state. It is believed that around Rs 250 crore can be given for this. Apart from this, a lot of money is also expected to be given for promoting technology in the agriculture sector and for infrastructure projects like expressway and metro.
