Uttar Pradesh: Action on negligence in Jal Jeevan Mission, 26 engineers punished, 12 suspended

Lucknow, March 25 (). The Rural Water Supply Department, which is working in mission mode to provide tap water to every rural house of the state, has taken major action against the engineers and employees who were negligent in their work. Actions like delay in the work of Jal Jeevan Mission project, suspension of 26 negligent engineers, departmental action, show cause notice etc. have been imposed.

Additional Chief Secretary of Namami Gange Department, Anurag Srivastava has suspended 12 engineers of the rank of Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Junior Engineer. At the same time, instructions have been given to conduct a departmental disciplinary inquiry against four executive engineers.

Apart from this, show cause notices have been issued to three executive engineers regarding slow progress in the project work. Also, after receiving complaints from various schemes, seven engineers have been transferred.

This is the biggest action taken against Jal Nigam employees in the matter of lateness in recent times. Namami Gange and Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Water Supply Department, Anurag Srivastava said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is working on mission mode to provide tap water to every rural household. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this. If the employees do not improve their working style, action of dismissal will also be taken.

He said that the state government is committed to ensuring complete transparency and accountability in works related to public interest. Negligence will not be tolerated at any level. The employees against whom Jal Nigam Rural Department has taken suspension action include Executive Engineer of Lakhimpur Kheri Avinash Gupta, Executive Engineer of Jaunpur Soumitra Srivastava, Executive Engineer of Ghazipur Mohd. Qasim Hashmi, Chandauli’s acting executive engineer Amit Rajput, Chandauli’s assistant engineer Sitaram Yadav, Bijnor’s assistant engineer Akbar Hasan, Auraiya’s junior engineer Anurag Goyal, Hathras’s Kuldeep Kumar Singh, Azamgarh’s Rajendra Kumar Yadav, Bareilly’s Roop Chandra, Barabanki’s junior engineer Avnish Pratap Singh and Kushinagar’s acting divisional accountant Dharmaprakash Maheshwari.

Jal Nigam Rural Department has ordered a departmental disciplinary inquiry against four engineers. This includes Auraiya Executive Engineer Aman Yadav, Mainpuri Executive Engineer Ankit Yadav, Prayagraj Executive Engineer Praveen Kutty, and Shamli Acting Executive Engineer Phool Singh Yadav.

Apart from this, show cause notices have been issued to three Ghaziabad-based executive engineers Bharat Bhushan, Amit Kumar posted in Agra and Rajesh Kumar Gupta posted in Mirzapur.

Assistant Engineer Vipin Kumar Verma has been transferred from Pratapgarh to Chandauli. Mohd. posted in Rampur. Asjad has been transferred from Rampur to Chandauli, Pradeep Kumar Mishra from Barabanki to Bijnor, Udayraj Gupta from Chandauli to Rampur, Amit Kumar from Shamli to Barabanki, Chandra Bodh Tyagi from Mainpuri to Azamgarh, and junior engineer Ajay Kumar from Kaushambi to Azamgarh.
