West Bengal: BJP may announce candidate for Rajya Sabha elections in March

Kolkata . BJP can finalize the name of its lone candidate for Rajya Sabha nomination from West Bengal by the first week of March. A total of five seats in the Upper House of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) are falling vacant from West Bengal by the end of April this year. Based on its majority in the West Bengal Assembly, Trinamool Congress can easily win four of these five seats, while BJP will be successful in making its single candidate win. Insiders in the West Bengal unit of BJP said that currently three names are being discussed for this post. The first name is of megastar Mithun Chakraborty and the second name is of the party’s former Lok Sabha member and actress-turned-politician Locket Chatterjee.
Apart from this, to some extent, the name of Dr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri, the current BJP MLA from Balurghat assembly seat of South Dinajpur district and former Chief Economic Advisor of the Central Government, is also being discussed.
At the same time, BJP leader Dipil Ghosh has targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and described her government as corrupt. He said that many corruptions have taken place in West Bengal, and all are going to be exposed soon.
Speaking to journalists, Dilip Ghosh said, “There are many such cases in Bengal which are of corruption. The second is the NIA case of anti-national activities, and I-PAC has also been involved. If there is a case, it will be heard in the court, but during the agency’s raid in the I-PAC office, the way Mamata Banerjee herself went there and tried to hide the truth, it seems that there is a big secret hidden there or a scam. Therefore, this case should be heard quickly and justice should be done.” “Meet.”
He said that there are many anti-national activities related to the Bengal government. However, a case has been registered and it can be settled in the court. The people are upset with the way the government is working in Bengal. The public is ready to answer this in the coming time.
