What did the state Congress leaders say on the big victory of Congress, took the Bhajanlal government to task

Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara said after the party’s victory in the Anta by-election, “I bow to the people of Anta. They ensured the victory of the Congress. This was a two-year test of the BJP government and the government has failed.”

Speaking to reporters in Jaipur, he said, “The by-election results clearly show the failure of the BJP government in its functioning. The voters have given a strong message ahead of the 2028 assembly elections. I am confident that the Congress will form the government in the state in 2028.”

Dotasara said that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma campaigned twice in Anta, ministers camped there and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also camped completely, but the people chose Congress.

Opposition leader Tikaram Julie said that the people of Anta have given a clear mandate. He said that when the Chief Minister came, it became clear that no concrete work had been done in the last two years. The Chief Minister kept writing slips, but nothing changed at the ground level. He alleged that many public welfare schemes of the previous Congress government in the Anta region had been discontinued, and its effect was now visible in the election results. Julie also claimed that the government may soon seek the resignation of all the ministers – anything is possible in the current political scenario.

On the other hand, Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya attributed his victory to the change in public sentiments. Bhaya in Baran said that in the last elections people had turned their backs on BJP, but this time they have given us their blessings.

More than 80 percent voting took place in the by-election held on November 11. However, these results will not have any impact on the stability of the state government, as the BJP has a majority with 118 seats in the 200-member assembly. With this victory, Congress’s tally of seats has increased to 67. Apart from this, Bharat Adivasi Party has four seats, BSP has two and RLD has one seat.

Gehlot said, “The government has failed.”

After the victory of Congress in Anta by-election, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched a scathing attack on the Bhajan Lal government. He said that the government could not achieve even a single concrete achievement in two years.

Expressing gratitude to the voters and congratulating newly elected MLA Pramod Jain Bhaya, Gehlot said that the results are showing increasing dissatisfaction among the public. He alleged that the BJP government has weakened the public welfare schemes of the previous government, due to which the public is upset and this dissatisfaction was also visible in the by-elections.

Gehlot said that the results showed strong anti-incumbency sentiment against the government from the very beginning. He described the by-elections as a litmus test and said that the government has failed. He also appreciated the efforts of Congress leaders and workers.
