Sidelining the Shinde faction, there has been an “unexpected alliance” between the BJP and the Congress in the Ambernath Municipal Council, and the alliance is taking the BJP to a clear majority.

BJP’s Tejashree Karanjule has won the post of Mayor in Ambernath Municipal Council. The alliance of 32 councilors, including 14 BJP, 12 Congress and 4 NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) councillors, will give BJP a clear majority. This alliance has been named “Ambernath Vikas Aghadi” (Ambernath Development Front).
Shinde Sena’s attack on BJP
However, there is a lot of dissatisfaction in the Shiv Sena Shinde faction due to these developments. The Shiv Sena Shinde faction has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, calling the alliance an “unholy alliance”. Shinde faction MLA Dr. Balaji Kinikar has accused the BJP, which talks about a Congress-free India, of attacking Shiv Sena by forging an alliance with the Congress.

Shinde Sena said that BJP, which has declared Congress-free India, has today formed an alliance with Congress in Thane’s Ambernath Municipal Council. Shiv Sena considers this alliance a betrayal. However, BJP has rejected these allegations. BJP Vice President Gulabrao Karanjule Patil hit back at the Shinde faction, saying that if they had been in power with the Shinde faction involved in corruption for the last twenty-five years, this unfair alliance would not have happened. The entire blame was put on Shiv Sena.
He also claimed that he tried several times to discuss a Grand Alliance with the Shinde Group for Ambernath Municipal Council, but did not get any response from their leaders. While the BJP-Congress alliance is finalizing the power-sharing arrangement in the Ambernath Municipal Council, this alliance has created tension within the larger alliance. Whether this alliance in Ambernath is wrong or cannot be avoided, political allegations and counter-allegations are likely to intensify in the coming days.
