Jaipur. Many innovative initiatives are being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to implement the policy of good governance and public interest being paramount. One of these initiatives is the effectively implemented Rasta Kholo Abhiyan in Jaipur district, which has changed the face of rural areas in just 15 months.
Under the direction of Jaipur District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, due to the sensitive initiative of the district administration, more than 1700 roads which were closed for years in Jaipur district were opened, which has facilitated the access of lakhs of villagers to their fields, farms and villages. With the aim of effective implementation of Rasta Kholo campaign and to benefit maximum common people, District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni himself is continuously and intensively monitoring the campaign. Due to the activeness and dialogue based strategy of the administration, many years old disputes are being resolved through consensus and understanding. Under the campaign, Phagi tehsil topped, where maximum 148 roads were opened. At the same time, great relief was provided to the villagers by opening 132 roads in Mauzmabad tehsil.
Nodal officer of the campaign and Additional District Collector Ashish Kumar said that under the direction of District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, the Rasta Kholo campaign is not limited to just opening the roads, but has become a powerful medium to facilitate the rural economy and social life. During the period from 15 November 2024 to 21 February 2026, a total of 1 thousand 703 roads were opened in Jaipur under the Open Road Campaign. A target has been set to open minimum 3 roads every week in each tehsil. Under this, with consent and advice, roads blocked for years in villages, fields and farms are being opened.
Additional District Collector said that under the campaign, maximum 148 roads were opened in Phagi tehsil. After this, 132 in Maujmabad, 119 in Andhi, 103 in Chaumun, 100 in Shahpura, 91-91 in Phulera and Chaksu, 90 in Jamvaramgarh, 89-89 in Amer and Dudu, 85 in Rampura Dabri, 83 in Madhorajpura, 81 in Bassi, 79 in Jobner, 75 roads were opened in Kishangarh, 72 in Kotkhavda, 70 in Jalsu, 57 in Tunga, 34 in Sanganer, 10 in Kalwad and 5 in Jaipur tehsil.
Through the Rasta Kholo campaign, the traffic routes that were blocked for years in the district have been made smooth again and the villagers have got direct relief, which along with making the traffic in the district easier, has directly benefited the villagers and farmers. With the opening of roads, farmers have got convenience in delivering machinery and produce to their fields. Access to emergency health services has improved. Students no longer have to take long trips to school and college.
With the inspiration of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, this humble effort of Jaipur District Administration, sensitive and solution-based approach has ended many years old disputes and also strengthened social harmony, that is why Rasta Kholo campaign has today become synonymous with relief, trust and good governance in the rural areas of Jaipur. This initiative is not only opening the blocked routes but also paving the way for trust between the administration and the public.
