Market before Budget 2024-25

Indian stock market benchmarks, Nifty 50 and Sensex, closed in the red on Monday, July 22, ahead of the Union Budget 2024. Nifty 50 closed 22 points or 0.09 percent lower at 24,509.25, while Sensex closed 103 points or 0.13 percent lower at 80,502.08. In contrast, the mid- and small-cap segments showed good gains, setting aside the caution over the upcoming budget. Nifty witnessed volatility ahead of the budget announcement day.
