This news has created a lot of panic among the people and they have remembered the incident of demonetization of 2016. However, after this post went viral, the government has reacted to it.
What is the truth behind this news?
The official Clarifying the facts, the agency said, “This claim is completely false. As per RBI, there are no plans to phase out paper notes or replace them with plastic notes till June 30, 2026.”
Furthermore, the agency appealed to the people not to believe in such misinformation. He wrote, “Always check the official website of RBI for correct information. Verify with official sources before sharing information. Report any suspicious information related to the Government of India to PIB Fact Check.”
