The Central Government has issued an important order regarding the sale and distribution system of diesel, under which new rules have now been implemented for common customers and big consumers. This order is considered to be effective from June 11, 2026. According to the new rules, now any common customer will be able to buy a maximum of 200 liters of diesel in a day. Along with this, there is a complete ban on reselling purchased diesel.

The government has also clarified that now factories and commercial users will not get fuel from retail petrol pumps (fuel retail outlets). Such consumers will now have to purchase diesel only from designated bulk sale points. The purpose of this decision is said to be to control the unusual and sudden increase in sale of diesel at retail pumps in some areas in recent times. The government believes that this will bring transparency in the fuel distribution system and prevent hoarding or irregular consumption.

The order also states that this restriction has been initially imposed for 90 days, after which the situation will be reviewed. The government has assured that with this step the common consumers will not face any kind of fuel shortage. At present, this new rule remains a topic of discussion in the fuel market and business world, and its effects are being monitored.
