Bihar Government has transferred 61 Revenue Service officers with the aim of expediting the ongoing special land survey and settlement work in the state. Under the order issued by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, new deployment of officers has been made in various districts.
The transferred list includes officers working on important posts like Assistant Settlement Officer, District Land Acquisition Officer and Revenue Officer-cum-Law Officer. The government believes that the new deployments will speed up the process of land survey and record updating.
According to officials, the special land survey is among the ambitious projects of the state government. Its objective is to update land records, reduce ownership disputes and ensure transparency in land related matters. For this, large scale survey work is going on in various districts.
Departmental sources say that the progress of survey work in many areas was not as per expectation. In such a situation, officers have been transferred to increase administrative efficiency and effectively monitor the works. After the new posting, the concerned officers have been instructed to take charge in their respective areas soon.
The aim of the state government is to complete the work of special land survey within the stipulated time limit. For this, along with the use of technical resources, continuous review is also being done at the administrative level.
Experts believe that digitization of land records and completion of survey works will reduce land related disputes and also make the process of land acquisition for development projects more streamlined.
The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has clarified that any kind of negligence in survey work will not be tolerated. With the new responsibilities the officials are expected to speed up the campaign and complete the target of updating land records on time.
This administrative reshuffle of the government is being considered an important step towards making the special land survey campaign more effective.
