New Delhi. On the one hand, where people are already troubled by the impact of inflation. On the other hand, after hitting the ever-increasing prices of CNG in Delhi-NCR, the drivers have decided to increase the fare. In such a situation, once again the scissors of inflation are ready to walk on the pockets of the common people. Let us tell you, after the rising prices of CNG, the cab aggregator companies have started increasing the fares strongly, due to which it will become expensive for you to travel by cab. Leading cab aggregator Uber has increased its fares by up to 12 per cent. It should be noted that due to the continuous increase in the price of CNG along with petrol and diesel, the cab and auto drivers had also raised the voice of increase in the fare. Till now, only auto and taxi drivers who took offline booking had increased the fare, but now after this move of Uber, now booking other online cabs will also become expensive. The direct impact of the hike in cab fares will be visible on the people already facing the brunt of inflation because at some places people have to make use of them.
Uber’s journey will be expensive in these places
After the increase in prices, it will now become expensive to book cabs from Uber’s app in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad, including the capital of the country. It is also believed that soon Ola may also increase the fare in view of the demand of its partner driver.
CNG became costlier by Rs 12.48 since March
Since March till now, the price of CNG in Delhi-NCR has increased by Rs 12.48 per kg. At present, CNG is being sold at a price of Rs 69.11 per kg in the capital Delhi. Due to these increased CNG prices, it was becoming difficult for auto and cab drivers to travel at the old rates. In such a situation, along with demanding increase in auto fares from Delhi government, the demand for increase in fares was also raised from cab aggregator companies.
Auto, taxi, cab drivers are demanding subsidy
Drivers driving autos, taxis and cabs in Delhi-NCR have demanded subsidy on CNG from the government. On Monday, April 11, by protesting on the previous day, these people raised the demand for subsidy and also warned the government that if their demands were not met, they would go on an indefinite strike from April 18. At the same time, the Delhi Auto-Rickshaw Association says that the government should give us a subsidy of Rs 35 per kg on the prices of CNG, only then they will be able to survive.
