Anil Ambani’s troubles do not seem to be decreasing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been cracking down on the Reliance Group led by him for the past few days and assets worth ₹7,500 crore have been seized. The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Anil Ambani to the ED office on November 14. This is the second time the ED has summoned him.
ED action continues
It is noteworthy that attachment orders were issued under Section 5(1) of PMLA on October 31, 2025. Under this, more than 40 properties have been provisionally attached in a money laundering case related to alleged misuse of public funds raised by Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) and Reliance Commercial Finance Limited (RCFL). His residence at Pali Hill in Bandra West, Mumbai is also among the properties worth ₹7,500 crore seized by the ED.
However, after the ED action, Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group said in a filing to the stock exchange that there has been no impact on its business. Most of the assets seized by the ED belong to Reliance Communications, which has been undergoing the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) for six years, the company said. The performance of Reliance Power and Reliance Infra will remain unaffected in future also.
Anil Ambani also appeared in the court in August
The ED investigation into Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group has been going on for a long time. On August 5, the ED had summoned Reliance Group Chairman and Managing Director Anil Ambani for questioning in connection with the ongoing investigation into an alleged loan fraud case. His companies have been searched several times. The money laundering case, which has added to Anil Ambani’s troubles, pertains to allegations that public funds raised through RHFL and RCFL were diverted and laundered through transactions involving entities linked to the Anil Ambani group.
